Mendooran Show 6/4. An excellent small country show with a quality line up of cattle. We competed in the European Breed Section against Charolais and Limo studs. Our heifer Daraabah Henna went on to win the Grand Champion European Female. Our 11 month old bull Daraabah Houston got pipped by an older Charolais bull. Maddie won the junior Paraders section and went on to win the Champion Parader.

WELLINGTON SHOW 27/4. Maddie with her first outing as Glenanna Fleckviehs had great success with 8 month old Wondenia Hidey (bred by the great Max Dench) taking out SUPRREME FEMALE over a Red Angus cow and calf and an older Limo and Speckle Park female. It was also good to see Maddies other heifer, Daraabah Hianna getting up over Daraabah Henna. Our 11 month old bull Daraabah Houston was greatly admired by the judge and was unlucky not to be Supreme Male. Maddies heifers won the pair of heifers. Lochie won his age class and Maddie won her age class in the Paraders Comp but were beaten by the Senior Competitors.

DUBBO SHOW 4/5. Daraabah Houston got his chance to shine and was awarded Grand Champion bull in the Any Other Breed class. This time this judge preferred Maddies Daraabah Hianna over Wondenia Hidey. She also beat our older Senior Champion Tennysonvale Fifi with her cracking 6 week old calf Daraabah Jumping Jack Flash. Hianna and Houston both represented Flackviehs in the Interbreed but unfortunately their age was against them. Next year !

DUBBO HEIFER SHOW 5/5. Both of Maddies heifers competed in this. In a very competitive under 12 month class of 14 heifers, Wondenia Hidey was placed 3rd. Daraabah Hianna was up next in the 12 to under 16 month class in another competitive field of 14 heifers. The judge said Hianna was a clear winner in this class and was very impressed with her saying that she "oozed femininity." There were another 2 age classes so around 45 heifers in all. For the Grand Champion heifer it came down to Hianna and a Limo heifer with the 2 judges torn over the decision. One went with Hianna the other went with the Limo. Unfortunately the Limo won out. We were so impressed and hope it goes some way into spreading the word and showing how great and competitive Fleckviehs can be.

WARREN SHOW 18/5. Very nice showground on the banks of the Macquarie River. Shady and green. A very good lot of quality cattle. It was good to see 7 other studs there. Houston got Reserve Champion European Bull and Henna beat Hianna and Hidey and eventually got the Reserve Champion Junior Female. Lochie got 2nd in the Paraders Comp. Well done Lochie!
